No referral is required to book a private appointment at Crescent Psychology. 

You may be eligible for a rebate from your private health insurance provider, depending on your level of cover. Please contact your provider to check whether psychological services are included.

To access Medicare rebates, you will need a referral and a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP prior to your first appointment.

For many clients, sessions may attract a rebate from Medicare if you have been referred by your GP with a Mental Health Treatment Plan. 

Crescent Psychology is not a bulk-billing service. Please refer to our Session Fees section for current fees and rebate information.

We understand that financial circumstances can vary and are happy to discuss options where cost is a barrier. 

A Mental Health Treatment (Care) Plan is prepared by a GP and may entitle you to up to 10 Medicare rebated psychology sessions per calendar year. 

To obtain a Mental Health Treatment Plan, book a long appointment with your GP to discuss your mental health concerns. Your GP will determine whether a Treatment Plan is appropriate and can forward your referral and Plan to office@crescentpsychology.com.au

Online bookings require a $50 deposit which is held and applied in the event of a late cancellation.

Appointments are available business hours, Monday to Friday. 

Standard appointments are 50 minutes from the scheduled start time.

Some clients may prefer a shorter appointment, and 30-minute brief sessions are available where clinically appropriate.

The number of sessions varies depending on individual needs and goals.

Clients with a Mental Health Treatment Plan may be eligible for up to 10 Medicare-rebated sessions per calendar year.

Telehealth appointments are conducted via secure videoconferencing using a reliable internet connection or via telephone. 

If the connection is interrupted or lost, the session will continue by telephone where possible, or an alternative appointment time will be arranged. 

All telehealth consultations are private and confidential and adhere to the same clinical standards as face-to-face appointments. Sessions are delivered via Zanda Health, a secure, Australian-based health platform using a browser-based video system designed for healthcare.

Please ensure you are in a private space when attending your appointment.

If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. At least 48 hours’ notice is required to avoid a cancellation fee. Please refer to our Client Consent Form for further details. 

Yes. Due to high demand for appointments, cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment will incur a $50 cancellation fee. This fee will be retained from your booking deposit.
