At Crescent Psychology we are committed to guiding clients on their individual "Core Self" healing journey through reliable and regular psychology appointments with our registered psychologist, Peta Marceau. Our goal is to help clients grow from difficulties and move towards living a rich and meaningful life.
Our focus at Crescent Psychology is to help individuals develop core skills in improving mental health, including self-compassion, awareness and acceptance. Our psychologist listens to your concerns and customises psychology treatment plans based on individual need.
Peta Marceau is a registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, an AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor and a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi).
Peta established Crescent Psychology in 2020, offering client-centered therapy for children, adolescents and adults. As a down-to-earth and empathic person, her lighthearted approach to treatment is both neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed,
and is individualised to suit each client.
Peta earned a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Bachelor of Education (Secondary-Japanese) from Sydney University in 2009. Since 2010, she has offered mental health support and remains committed to ongoing learning, staying current with psychology trends and pursuing additional training in various therapeutic approaches.
Peta uses different evidence-based therapies like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Play Therapy, Sandtray, Art and other expressive therapies, all dependent on the client's preferences and needs.
Peta has also worked as a School Counsellor (Advanced) in a range of educational settings and has over 14 years experience in providing child and adolescent intervention, parenting support, group therapy and cognitive, academic and behavioural assessments.
Recently she has provided weekly telehealth support to serving members of the Australian Defence Force and Veterans eligible for DVA support and has expanded her online presence to be able to offer therapeutic intervention for adolescent and adult clients across Australia.
Peta has supported early career psychologists, university students and provisional psychologists in their career development and offers ongoing supervision for colleagues and other health/education professionals. She has conducted numerous professional training sessions for educational and counselling staff, demonstrating a commitment to advancing knowledge and skills in the field of psychology and mental health.
